Photographs and ephemera relating to the political career of California State Senator and Assemblyman Nicholas Petris. Includes publicity portraits of Petris and other political figures, event photographs, luncheons or banquets, and images related to specific campaigns. Some Petris family snapshots are included. Also present are several small pieces of memorabilia, such as campaign buttons and a pen used by Ronald Reagan to sign A.B. 2057.

Nicholas Petris, commonly known as Nick, was born in Oakland, California in 1923. He attended Oakland public schools and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1943 with a B.A. in journalism. After service as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army in the European theatre from 1944-1947, he went to Stanford University law school, graduating in 1948 and passing the bar in 1949.
